Research Narrative
My research project on the topic of CCNY security was interesting. It allowed me to research something meaningful. It allowed me to take a closer look at the college. Seeing past its good looks and looking into its flaws. It wasn’t an easy task. Making the survey and handing it out was the trickiest part. Distributing the survey allowed me to work on my salesman tactics even though it was awkward asking some people. But I got through it. It was a valuable experience in life I needed that I will continue to build off. The library forms were useful at the start. However, once I did the source report, it made me realize my sources didn’t go as well together as I intended. So I switched some up in the end. It was easy to find my sources but finding sources that point out the flaws of CCNY is generally difficult. They’re doing a great job at hiding them. Nothing surprised me in the end besides my survey response. We all have different experiences which I learned through my survey, however, it was an all-around doable project.
CCNY Demands PSA and Presentation Material
The PSA assignment was an interesting twist on the casual presentation. In the end, I compiled a short presentation followed by a 1-minute PSA. The proudest moment of this part was creating the PSA video. It was the first time I used Canva to make a video. I think it turned out great, considering how crunched for time I was. I do wish I had better-quality images and spent more time on the flow of the video itself, but it turned out well. The hardest part was making the supporting presentation. When orchestrating it, I felt as if I was overthinking it. At first, I thought I had to turn my entire research project into a long slideshow. But after a quick look at the rubric, it was far simpler than I imagined. My only regret was not adding my source page. I simply ran out of time and had to make a sacrifice. But it all worked out in the end, in my opinion, and I am content.
